Summerlin

Summerlin is located near Red Rock Canyon, within both the Las Vegas city limits and unincorporated Clark County. A master-planned community of more than 22,000 acres, it has a population of nearly 100,000. The land itself was purchased by famed actor and entrepreneur Howard Hughes in 1952. After Hughes died, his family created the Summa Corporation, and in 1988 they began developing the land, naming it “Summerlin” after Hughes grandmother, Jean Summerlin. Today, the community consists of multiple residential and commercial villages, with continued new construction and development.
